I have been working as a music therapist since the completion of my internship in March of 2022. I have experience working with the Deafblind Community, the disabled community, developmental delays, Autistic people and children. I continue to thrive working with people of all kinds all over Waterloo region and beyond. I am also a classically trained flutist, and I also play guitar, hand drums, ukulele & piano.
I work from an anti-oppressive, disability informed practice. I call from many styles of music therapy. A humanistic and resourced based approach is what I find myself using most. I often find myself drawing from knowledge I have gained from other therapists, including music therapists, speech therapists, and others.
In 2022 I had the opportunity to present my project "exploring disability" at the 2022 Ontario Music Therapy Conference.
I completed my Bachelor’s of Music Therapy (BMT) from Acadia University in 2021 and completed her internship with Connecting in Rhythm in March 2022. I teach classes on anti-ableism and disability in my spare time to educate others in my field and beyond in what I feel is something incredibly important.
