I am a highly qualified and practising science teacher with over 10 years in the classroom and over 8 years as a Head of Department for Science, Geology and Applied Sciences. I have a 1st class BSc in palaeobiology and evolution and a PGCE from the University of Oxford. I also have an extensive knowledge of examination marking. I have been tutoring for the past 4 years and have helped my learners to achieve scholarships to Eton, Harrow, Wellington and Radley College (to name a few), to secure a place at Oxford University and to make at least 1-3 grades of improvement in their GCSE science examinations.
I love to teach science in a fun, safe, energetic way, whether it's mastering the mysteries of physics, exploring the wonders of biology, or diving deep into the world of chemistry. My mission is, and has always been, to ignite that curiosity we all have innately within us when it comes to science. I’ll find and close knowledge gaps quickly, give you tried and tested exam techniques and support you to make and learn from mistakes without judgement.
I have over 10+ years of teaching experience in secondary state and independent prep schools, 8+ years of which I have been a Head of Department for Science, Geology and Applied Science. I have been an online tutor for 3+ years and have helped students achieve scholarships to colleges such as Eton, Wellington, Harrow, Radley and Abingdon. I have also helped with a learner to achieve his place at the University of Oxford.
