Elementary Library Lady

Fifteen years of big-box book retail and Elementary Library Media Centers s guided me into the world of Public Libraries. I can say with pride that as a child from a single parent home where the only book in the house was a phone book, I have always surrounded myself with books and it fills my heart with joy that I am able to share my passion for reading with children every day.

I strive to make the library a warm and inviting space - hopefully the heart of the community. With a retail/marketing background, I have a passion for creating new displays, changing colors and themes and bringing attention to books that might have otherwise collected dust bunnies. I also want to continually refresh the library with new, colorful, and attention-getting designs and resources.

I was a member of Lions Club International and received numerous awards working with the organization. What fills my heart is giving back to the community and helping others. I am honored every day that I get to place books in kiddos hands and spark a passion for reading.

I graduated from Florida State University with both my bachelors degree and Masters of Library and Information Studies.

I am blessed that my husband, Carl, is part of “Team Elementary Library Lady”. Carl has been a CPA for over 25 years and he has been an investor, lifelong student of the financial markets and personal finance for much longer. He brings a wealth of knowledge, and passion for creating resources to help build confidence in not only reading but mathematics and personal finance to children of all ages.
