Description
This is a guided packet that I use when working on narrative writing. I start with mini lessons for leads, setting, suspense, main event... and so on. I use mentor texts and the examples in Empowering Writer's. The students practice writing a few leads and later they can pick which one they like. I have anchor charts for the diamond, and parts of the diamond. We also share what we wrote at the end of each lesson.
My mini lessons are usually 10-15 minutes
then writing time for about 30-40 minutes where I will take groups if needed
a 5-10 minute share time
