We announce a vocabulary word in Spanish every day. We discuss key facts about various countries on the announcements. We also have a school-wide trivia contest between all of the classes.We have a Hispanic Heritage Family Night with cultural dancers and a place to play Loteria.

Country Profiles for Teachers of ESL ELL MLL students
One page profiles for Guatemala & Dominican Republic, by far the largest demographic in the ELL population here in Rhode Island. I assembled a wealth of sources and created video playlists for teachers who wanted more info. The video playlists were interesting to many, and included footage I found on YouTube of classrooms in both countries. You can get a feel for what school is like for children in these countries.
