After reading the book, I'm Trying to Love Math by Bethany Barton, students pretend to be aliens visiting planet earth. They watch humans use everyday math tools like calculators, money, measuring cups, clocks, rulers, etc. Then they return home to their planet and tell their fellow alien friends what they saw.
