Math/Careers 7: Budget Project
Here is a project that allows students to apply what they learn about percentage into real life applications. Students will be allowed to pick a career of their choice and then find out how much their career makes in a year. They then have to use that number and follow a guide to determine how they will allocate their money into every daily life expenses! (rent, transportation, etc.)

Skittles Income and Taxes
Use Skittles to determine an hourly wage. This will engage students in multiplying decimals. Students will then practice converting percents to decimals to figure out the amount of taxes withheld from their pay. I use the small bags of Skittles for each student or you can use a large bag for a group of 4.
