Financial Management Fun Activity - Percentages, Taxes and Budgeting
This is a super fun financial management activity! Students will learn how to calculate taxes, budgeting and converting percentages. In this activity, students will shop online or in catalogues with their birthday money!The goal is to get as close to the budget as possible without going over. Students love this activity, they can shop for their favourite clothes and video games! It gives them a better understanding of how to manage their finances in the real world. Create Your Own Business Project
Great for a multi-subject unit! This project uses skills from both math and social studies. Students will have a great time creating their own company by creating a product to sell. They do lots of math work to understand profits and losses. Towards the end of the project, they are able to participate in a "selling simulation" where they get to "sell" their product to their classmates. I used this project with students in grades 4, 5, and 6 and all of my students loved the project!
