This book club or novel study unit on the book, Top Secret by John Reynolds Gardiner is suitable for highly able or gifted readers in grades K-2. The journal questions require thinking and responding at Bloom’s higher levels (evaluation, synthesis and evaluation) The questions and activities focus on plot, character analysis, comprehension, sequencing, real vs. make-believe. The reading level of the text is about 4.5 grade level but the activities have been designed for the very young student.
