Critical Thinking Exercises
These activities provide students the opportunity to think critically. They are given a passage and then have to write two different types of questions. One of the questions is supposed to be to reverse engineer the question that was asked in order for the answer to be the given passage. Another question is supposed to be an extending/refining question about the given passage.

The American Revolution: No Taxation Without Representation!
A simple role-play that helps students to understand the concept of no taxation without representation by asking them to imagine situations where they might come into conflict with their parents as teenagers and as adults. This introduces the concept of resentment when decisions are made by others but affect individuals. IB Theory of Knowledge - What Knowledge is important?
This exercise ask ToK students to work in groups to design their own IB curriculum. What subjects should be mandatory? What subjects should be optional? Why? All of these prompts are used to help guide students to produce a "new" IBDP curriculum. Groups share their conclusions with the class.
