I spent a week creating, sampling, testing, then revising this curriculum in my 7th-12th grade public school classrooms. Hearing Loss Prevention
Hearing loss is a topic that can be applicable to all students, especially with the frequent use of headphones. This lesson covers the inner ear and how decibel levels can affect stereocilia. I use it for my carpentry and welding students, but I feel it can easily be adapted for any classroom... even as an ice breaker for the first day of school.
