Halloween Compositions
This activity allows pre-K to 1st grade students to create 4 beat patterns using 1 or 2 syllable words. Students analyze 'halloween' themed words (if your school does not allow Halloween activities, simply remove the first 2 slides) and use them to compose unique 4 beat patterns.
The activity covers 5 of Ohio's Kindergarten Music Standards (listed in file). If you choose to add performances of the compositions, 7 standards are covered.

This worksheet has many uses! In my classroom, I use this worksheet for rhythm composition activities and notation activities. I have also used it for notation assessments.
