Using Poetry for Improvising and Composing with A, G and F-Grade 5
This anonymous poem is part of a grade 5 lesson on improvising and composing that includes writing words for an extra verse. Students will learn a new note-F or practice F and improvise on A, G and F. Students will play parts of the poem in unison and improvise on other lines of the poem. Students will read notation and write their own notation and will also add a third verse to the poem. This lesson should take about two 30 minute class periods and could be performed and used for assessment.
