Water Filter Experiment- packet
This experiment is great for understanding water filtration. We use 2 liter bottles with the bottom cut off. Students preplan in their groups what materials to use and how to place them in the upsidedown 2 liter. Once the prepare their "filtration system", I pour dirty water in and we collect it (glass baby food jars work great because you can see inside) out of the small opening at the bottom. Differentiated enlargement work booklet
This is an A5 work booklet on enlargement transformations. The booklet consists of a worked example for student notes and to teach students how to enlarge a shape by a given scale factor, find the centre of enlargement and calculate the scale factor. The booklet then includes several differentiated enlargement exam questions, including enlarging shapes by a positive, negative and fractional scale factor. At the end of the booklet there is a mini self assessment activity.

Mixed number fraction addition activity - game using dice, 5.NF.A.1
I used this 1 page activity with small groups of two students. The students roll the dice to fill in the mixed number fraction boxes and then they worked through completing the calculations. Student groups can also trade their sheet with another group for calculation completion. This sheet focuses on addition however there are two bonus problems at the bottom involving mixed number subtraction. Here is an alternative to completing worksheets for these skills. I include a skill sheet which explains how students can convert the number to compare them. You could use them in math centers, have the students work them out on whiteboards, use it for a game, or as task cards. As they are cut apart the students are not as overwhelmed as using the skills on a worksheet.

This is a one page activity that uses dominoes to create the fraction and a dice to determine the whole number. I completed this activity with groups of two students. I had the partners fill in the sheet and then trade it with a fellow group who solved the problems. Fractions Game-Equivalent Fractions
A set of fraction cards for a game of Memory! Each fraction card has one equivalent matching fraction card. Students place all cards face down and then flip over two. After combing through Pinterest and TPT, I realized that there is not a step-by-step graphic organizer out there for adding and subtracting fractions! As this is the most difficult concept learned in math for my 4th graders, I took the time and made 4 different levels of scaffolded graphic organizers to help them as they learn the different steps.
