Writing Short Response Answers Using Non-Fiction Texts - ELA Test Prep Skills
In this lesson students will learn how to formulate short response answers using a non-fiction text. As a model, students will look at other students responses (a low, middle and high answer) and are asked to critique what is right and what is missing from those answers. Argumentative Writing and Creative Problem Solving Lesson Plan
This lesson uses the conflicting texts "Ban the Ban! Soda's a Problem but..." and "Three Cheers for the Nanny State". Students will read the texts and engage in a creative problem solving discussion in which they identify the central ideas or problems that the author's identify.
