These critical thinking activities by Pamela Brock engage students in problem solving activities including guess and check, writing equations, process of elimination, order of operations, comparing numbers, multiplication, basic fractions, place value and finding and comparing volume. The problem solving situations all revolve around the theme of Valentine's Day. It is geared for students in grades 4 - 6. Because some of the problems are more involved, the activity can be used in one sitting
