Hanyu Pinyin (Hànyǔ Pīnyīn), referred to as Pinyin, is a scheme for notating Mandarin (Modern Standard Chinese) using Latin letters. It is the international standard specification for Chinese Roman Pinyin. Chinese Pinyin is fully used in primary school "Chinese Language" as a basic education content and is an important part of compulsory education.
