Rounding can be very tough, especially for ESE and ESOL students. The number line helps, but is even more helpful when you make it into number hills. Explain it to students as if they are dropping the ball on a number with "the 5's" at the top and "the 0's" at the bottom. Anything before 5 rolls back and after 5 rolls forward.
