This is a multi day SMARTboard lesson to accompany the book One Small Place in a Tree. The unit contains prior knowledge building, graphic organizers for vocabulary, cause/effect, and Author's Purpose. Fluency practice also included. Madam C.J. Walker Biography BLACK HISTORY MONTH Multi-Day SMARTBoard Lesson
This is a multi-day SMARTboard lesson to go along with the Biography, "Madam CJ Walker" by Patricia and Fredrick McKissack. The .notebook file includes 20 instructional pages with vocabulary, main idea, fact/opinion, information Madam Walker, and more. Multiple organizers are included to be used interactively as well as links to printable copies for students.
A two-day printable comprehension story packet is also included to allow students to demonstrate how to answer questions about the text.

Habitats Research Organizer
This is a 6 page organizer for students to use as they research a habitat of their choice. It is great for younger grades (1st-3rd). I created it as a smartboard to use as a model and then printed the pages directly from there. This project can be topped off with students creating a biome at home to then bring in and share with the class. Students loved it and did a great job with it!
