Valentine's Day Writing Prompt
This holiday writing prompt was designed to be a fun background information gathering tool that gets students engaged and thinking about the history and cultural context of Valentine's Day! This prompt can be used as an essay stem, a paragraph prompt, or a quickwrite/sponge activity. It is easily modified for ELL, SPED, and GATE students by adding/shortening writing length and sentence complexity. This is also a great activity for homeschool students!

In this project, students will research issues that can negatively effect the Earth. They will brainstorm solutions or behavior changes to help solve these Earth issues. Students will summarize two articles they find, then create a letter to an audience who can make a difference. They will design a logo to promote awareness of the Earth Day issue they selected.
