This interactive presentation will introduce students to Enlightenment ideals that sparked revolutions around the world. This lecture highlights the contributions of women in the American, African and Asian continents despite the oppressive nature of patriarchal systems-- regardless of this Enlightenment phenomenon. Additionally, this lecture reviews the impact of women during eras of colonialism--where Eurocentric social systems, embedded with systemic oppression of marginalized groups, spread.
