Fats at an Organic Chemistry Level
I use this in my beginning foods and nutrition class to better explain how liquid and solid fats differ and its nutrition.
This can be used in a chemistry class or a freshmen foods class. With a little background lesson on the basic idea of bonds, students can get this idea easily. I used Cornell notes as their format and provided pictures of the fats for students who needed it.
I also add in a quiz using SMART software but it's easy to do a quick T or F quiz with different fatty foods.

A two (2) slide Powerpoint presentation slide (that is easily opened in Smartboard formats) intended to start a discussion on why we consume food.
This is a 40 minute lesson where students identify and articulate reason for eating including understanding the difference between hunger and appetite.
