Students use this brochure (see all pages in publisher file) to review. Use task cards or other review questions to create 5 stations that students will rotate through. Set an expectation of a specific number of questions that must be answered correctly before they can move to the next station. Works great with task cards. One person can be the team captain and check other student's work. I've used stamps to mark the number of questions answered correctly. This is a method to keep student

When I create a unit, I create these cheat sheets by copying them double-sided on colored paper. Then I laminate them and keep them at the desks (1 for every 2 students), so they can refer to it during notes and activities. I also use them for bell work review questions, closure questions, partner review, etc. One side contains important diagrams and objectives, and the other side has the vocabulary for the unit.

VIP (Very Important Part) Bookmark - Editable!

This bookmark is used by students while reading a novel or longer piece to make note of important details they will want to refer back to later. It is used as a "quick jot" so that they just need to note the page number, placement on page, and reason for marking. When completing discussions and later follow-up work, students can then quickly find the information previously marked without having to flip through the entire novel. My students love it!

These are some of the most common prefixes used. I created a poster for each with the prefix, meaning and example. I printed mine using my classroom colors and then backed them on card stock. Since I am using these for hanging in my classroom, I also laminated them. I find that it is another resource for my struggling readers to use when searching for the meaning of unfamiliar words. ACT TRACKER (HIGH/LOW--FAST/SLOW)

This is an ACT tracker that I created for my students on Publisher. I call it high/low--fast/slow. We practice two of each piece on the Reading portion of the test and do a "Quick Write" or "Power Write" in between each. This allows students to keep track of their scores and word count and at the end of the unit they can determine which pieces they do best on and what particular order they should do them in on the real ACT test. The Quick Writes or Power Writes (from Angela Hilterbrand) help
