Practicing Restating the Question in Answers
In my classroom, we use R.A.C.E. to answer questions - R = Restate the question, A = Answer the question, C = Cite the evidence from the text, E = Explain or Elaborate. (G can be substituted for C to spell RAGE, where G = Give an example from the text. Maybe more appropriate for younger grades.)

Painless Prefixes, Roots and Suffixes Activities, Handouts--M.S.
The mini lesson is accompanied by a chart containing 10 prefixes, 12 roots and 8 suffixes and their meaning; an activity requiring students to deconstruct and reconstruct words and write the complete definition; a second activity in which students write sentences for the words, plus, a short challenge activity.
