Butterfly Dance

This is a song about the cycle of Monarch butterflies, starting off as caterpillars, turning into chrysalises, and then hatching as butterflies. Monarch butterflies, who migrate every spring from Mexico to the northern part of the United States, and then back again in the fall, can travel up to 3,000 miles. A wonderful song to illustrate, or invite students to move to.

Recycle, Reuse Song!

This is a really fun song that encourages children to recycle and reuse. It has a real rockin' beat and humorous lyrics that teach the concept and make it memorable! Drop me a line for lyric sheet and "recycling mouse" to color as well as a download of the background music only (so your kids can sing their own version!).

Recycling Hoedown

Based on an old American folk song called The Paw Paw Patch, with altered lyrics. In this version, we review many of the things that we can recycle instead of throwing them into the trash. Have children add their ideas. Accompany this with an art project of items made from reusable materials.

Every Day Is Earth Day

While Earth Day is officially celebrated in April, in teaching children about the importance of environmental awareness, it is important to teach them that care for the earth is not just a once a year event. I love echo songs, because they are the easiest way to invite a group to sing along. Children immediately feel that they are part of the music-making. This song can be expanded to a whole science lesson about the life cycle of each of the elements mentioned in the song: water, air and ear

Mayim Chayim

The title of this song is in Hebrew: Mayim means water, and Chayim means life, and this is a song about the water cycle. This is a great supplement to a science lesson on the water cycle. When we really understand the water cycle, we will be much more careful with how much water we use for our different activities.

Celebrate Earth Day with an - MP3- SONG - GARBAGE MOUNTAIN

Garbage Mountain written and recorded by Steve Trash and Kelvin Holly. This song is about finding smart ways to create less waste. The average American throws away 3-7 pounds of garbage everyday. That's a LOT of waste. Ultimately, it ends up becoming a big huge Garbage Mountain. This mp3 song has a bit of an "old school country feeling" (with some amazing guitar playing by Kelvin Holly of the Amazing Rhythm Aces, Little Richard Band) to it, and kids seem to really like it. Enjoy!
