The Great Egg Drop!

Our science textbook does not contain any information on simple machines so I created this article for my class. I used information from Scholastic.

This is a Problem Solving Activity involving a Paper Airplane. The students are asked to design a Paper Airplane on the page and then build one. The students test their Paper Airplanes and record the results. This is a great Common Core activity and can be used as a class project or as a sponge activity.

Simple Machines Mini-Project
This short project outline is meant to be used by the students as they work in pairs or groups to do research about six different types of simple machines. Once the students' research is finished, the teacher can have them present their findings, assign one type of simple machine for each group to present, or even have the students rotate through centers where they can have experiences building/using these simple machines.
