Pirates Ahoy! --- the Antonym Game
Play this fun and exciting game with your students! In Pirates Ahoy, your students will take turns selecting cards from a "messy" pile. If they select a "pirate", the student must provide an antonym for the word on the bottom of the card. If they are able to give an antonym, they get to keep the card. Using the familiar pattern, students are able to read high frequency words over and over, identify colors and color words, and do so in an interactive format. Students read the sentences with the color words and pick the appropriate color heart. When the students drag the heart of their choice, there is a check-mark under the correct answer, reinforcing this skill.
