December/Christmas/Winter Journal Writing Prompt Booklet
This is a 7 page booklet that features two journal entries on each page. The first is a title page, so there are 12 writing prompts. Each page has several lines for a student response, as well as a box to draw a picture of the journal entries.
These half sheets are to be cut out and given to students one at a time. At the end of the month, just before break, I like to punch holes and bind the journals for students to keep as a momento.
This is for levels 2-4, or for special education students

A line of nail polishes representing The Hunger Games was released earlier this month. It struck me that it might be fun for the students to create a nail polish line based on another set of star-crossed lovers: Romeo and Juliet. This activity would not only allow students to be creative, but to show their understanding of the events and characters in the story.
