This circuit has it all for your students to review their trigonometry! 48 total questions (only 8 require the use of a calculator, and assuming the students are doing it correctly, the 8 questions all come in a row in the middle of the circuit).

Your students will love working these right triangle trig problems in the self-checking circuit format. The 20 problems start easy and build in complexity. Students are expected to do these problems without a calculator (all answers are simplified

I wrote this as a request for an algebra one teacher for her students as they bridge to geometry. There are 16 problems in all and build from finding the distance and the midpoint to finding an endpoint or a missing coordinate when the distance

I wrote this circuit as a request for a middle school 8th grade math teacher, however, a high school geometry student or even a student preparing for a standardized test would get a lot of use out of this set of 16 exercises too. The volumes

This circuit is the same as the other beginning geometry circuit, but written at a higher level by my AP Calculus colleague Ginger Riddle. It introduces vocabulary such as vertical angles, supplementary, etc. Your students will love to learn or

I wrote this set of progressively harder 20 area/circumference questions for a colleague when she asked if I had a circuit on this material. Students will need to know about right triangle trig to work the second two thirds of this circuit so it is

Give your students engaging practice with the circuit format! This 17-question self-checking circuit was written by one of my colleagues, Kelly Hicks, so her students could learn their properties of quadrilaterals and also practice setting up and

My AP Calculus colleague made this 10-question circuit for her geometry students (because very few of us actually teach AP Calculus all day long). She is proud of her work and wants to share it with you for free! Great practice for your geometry

This is a circuit Carole Stevens and I worked on over several days. It includes many practice problems from coordinate geometry from writing equations of lines to midpoint formula and distance formula. No calculator is needed to work this circuit.

A circuit might be just the right idea to leave for a substitute. But, what if your students have never worked a circuit before? Calculus colleague Erica Arrington wrote this simple set of directions and here it is! It uses the front page of this

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a high school math teacher with 33.5+ years experience primarily with algebra one and calculus (but with all courses). I have also taught at the middle school and college level. I have been paying attention to the misconceptions students have for the past 33.5+ years. I know what kinds of mistakes kids make and I weave these into the circuits I write to help them notice their misconceptions. I do not include answer keys with the circuits because the answers are part of the circuit. The teacher needs to work the circuit first as prep, and then let the circuit and the students take care of the rest.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My circuits represent but a fraction of my day-to-day teaching resources, but they are the ones I have developed and so I am proud of them! They appear boring (just boxes), but I promise you, they will keep your students engaged! They are not just practice, but the unpacking of a skill or concept. If you are trying to move away from direct instruction into being more of a facilitator, try a few circuits! Try writing your own! I do not include the answer keys because the answers are part of the circuit. These circuits are in some ways NO PREP, but the teacher must work through the circuit first to understand the unpacking of the idea. When all else fails, whip out your light saber.
