Tuttley Teaching

I've been teaching for EIGHT years - where does the time go?! Two years I spent in a high school setting and the remaining six I spent teaching 8th grade science. I've collaborated with other members of my district to provide professional development opportunities and share resources to help new educators!

Make it fun! How boring is taking notes? What once was a necessary evil isn't so necessary anymore.. If you can get kids involved and interacting with your material, then you reach a whole new level of understanding!

I was actually in school to become a Registered Nurse - while my heart was in the right place, my OCD was NOT happy with this choice and invading people's personal space was not my strength. I changed majors to Biology and began tutoring which lead to becoming the Supplemental Instruction Plan Leader at the University and I knew I wanted to teach. Fast forward eight years and a few teaching licenses later... I'm a teacher and love every minute of it!

While teaching is a huge part of who I am, it certainly isn't the only notable thing about me! I am married to the man I've loved since high school! The sweetest and brightest little girl made me a mama and is my inspiration every day. I took a year off from teaching to show her this big new world and returned a better teacher! In what little free time I have between being a mama and a teacher, I enjoy crocheting and creating products for teachers around the world!
