I have been a dual language kindergarten for three years now! Before teaching dual, I taught for the office of refugee resettlement, providing education for students ages 3-17 from Mexico and Central and South America. I have also taught general ed kindergarten and definitely think kinder is my favorite grade to teach :)
I am very strict with my kiddos and they respond very well to my structured classroom environment. I teach in a low-income school with some high needs and strive to create a close classroom community. We are a K-6 school with only 200 students and students, families and staff alike feel this sense of family.
When I'm not with my group of kinders, I can usually be found doing something active! I love exercising, hiking and being outdoors. I also LOVE to travel and learn languages!
I received my undergrad degree in Elementary Education with minors in reading, ESOL and Spanish. I received my masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialty in ESOL education.
