TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I was born and grew up in Japan and now I'm living in Canada. I have taught Japanese from children (6-18 years old) to adult learners (post secondary and continued education) over 10 years in and outside Japan.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe one learns the most when there are reasons. To have such environment, I am trying to apply the language instruction into learners' life contexts and interests and to create situations which motivate them to use the languege. I am pursuing to create resources useful for teachers and meaningful for learners.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

MA in Japanese Applied Linguistics, BA in Literature

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

My native language is Japanese and I use English and Spanish as my second languages. When I create resources I am applying what I have experienced through my own language learning and teaching. I am creating what I wish/wished to exist and I am happy to make it realized. My shop name "にほんごのはね (wings of Japanese)" contains my wish for learners to have wings to fly the world with another language.
