TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am honored to have been recognized as 2014-2015 County Teacher of the Year. I have been teaching the "Algebra" family classes for over than 20 years. Currently I teach High School Algebra II and Honors Algebra II. I have also taught Middle School - Algebra and Pre-Algebra. I worked as a Consultant for Middle School where I developed pacing guides and teaching activities which were used DISTRICT WIDE. I have also taught as an Adjunct Professor of Mathematics at 4 different colleges teaching a variety of math classes such as statistics, probability, algebra, trig and geometry. I have presented different workshops on integrating technology into Math. I am a Smart Notebook trainer and Smart Response trainer as I am certified in both categories. Teaching is my passion as it lead be to be recognized as teacher of the year at a school level (2 schools), district level (2 districts), college level, as well as county level as stated above. Currently I am an "Academic Facilitator" at my high school.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I integrate technology inyo my teaching on a daily basis as I use the Smart Board as well as the smart response. Graphing calculators are used constantly with my Algebra II students. Based on the topic taught, groups (centers) some times work better than teacher led lecture. I like to always provide STRUCTURED notes as it helps my students stay focused.
