TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Although I went to school to be a high school math teacher, while student teaching I fell in love with teaching middle school. My heart was set on middle school when I was offered a job at an elementary school. Although I loved my years in the elementary school, I am currently teaching what my heart most desired, 8th grade math! With 22 years experience, I have taught 4th-8th grade. I must say I've found joy all along the way!

MY TEACHING STYLE

My style varies from very traditional to paperless....hands on and drill and kill. I love to create curriculum that breaks down each standard in such a way that moves students from skill focused calculators to advanced, thinking learners. I've learned to meet the needs of ever changing demands and learning styles.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Teacher of the Year - 3 years; Google Certified Level 1 & 2

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

BA Mathematics from Covenant College; MEd in Integrated Curriculum and Instruction from Covenant College

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I'm a Christian who strives to be more and more like Jesus. My husband, two sons, and daughter capture my heart. I am amazed at watching my children grow (so quickly) and become such amazing people. My family of five and I love to be outside as much as possible. Traveling, camping, hiking, and biking are some of our favorite things to do together.
