TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I currently teach sixth, seventh, and eighth grade social studies. I have taught language arts in the past, but most of my classes have been social studies. Topics I teach include civics, economics, world geography, ancient history and American history.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like to mix it up, presentations, activities, documentaries, etc... whatever gets students engaged. I do not use a history textbook.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Darn I guess I haven't won any individual awards yet. I did have multiple students qualify for the National History Bee finals in Atlanta and the National Geographic Bee Illinois state finals last year.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Master of Education, Education Policy and Management, Harvard University, 2010; Master of Science in Education, Educational Leadership, Western Illinois University, 2009; Bachelor of Science in Education, endorsements in middle school language arts and social studies, 2005

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am a huge history nerd. My favorite topic is World War Two.
