TEACHING EXPERIENCE

My name is MaryAnn Craven. I have have been teaching since 1971. I've taught in public schools, Christian schools and I home schooled my own children for 12 years. I've also worked for Group Publishing, creating teacher materials and Sunday school curriculum. I absolutely love teaching young children....and I'm so glad God created other teachers who enjoy junior high kids. :-) I am currently director/teacher at Zion Christian School in Fallbrook, CA. I teach pre-k/TK.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe young children learn by experiencing, so my classroom is active. We enjoy puppets, drama, stories, science experiments and singing. I love children's artwork. We do lots of creating and each child's project is unique and beautiful in its own way.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have been looking at my 90% complete "profile standing" for several years. I hate for things to be "incomplete." So, when our preschool got an award for "Best in Fallbrook," I thought, "Hey, I can fill in that last box and be complete!" So, I did! :)

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from La Verne College [now ULV] with a BA in English and a minor in Education. I got my teaching credential through various colleges.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have been married for 50 years (June 2019) and my husband and I have four grown children and 11 grandchildren. We also have three dogs (Charlie, Abby and Rosie).
