TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have a degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Teaching English as a Second Language. I taught first grade for 2 years at a high risk Title 1 school, and then went into private tutoring for another two years working one on one with struggling students K-12. I was a Learning Target specialist at my school and trained other teachers in breaking down standards and building assessments and learning targets. I have been extensively trained in reading interventions, including ECRI and DIBELS, and received extra training in CMI Math Inquiry, Learning Targets, and STEM Principles and Applications. DIBELS (Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy)--now known as Acadience Learning-- is the foundation for most of my reading assessment and intervention products.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My Philosophy: All children are capable, unique, and have incredible potential. Education should be powered by a love of learning. Learning means most when students drive their own education.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Countless sweet notes from my students.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY
