TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Hello! I have 10+ years experience in teaching students with diverse needs. I have worked with students in Resource settings as well as students in Special Day Class.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I have a great deal of experience working with students who need to build their vocabulary skills. Not only have I worked with English Language Learners, but have found that many students with learning disabilities also struggle to advance their language skills. Due to the nature of my job, I tend to incorporate visuals, repetition and many opportunities for student practice in my lessons as much as possible.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Early on in my education, I graduated with a BA in English and Psychology in which I graduated with Distinction. From there, I earned my Education Specialist Credential with a focus on students with mild to moderate disabilities. Finally, I earned my Master's Degree in Special Education after completing a thesis on executive functioning lessons and how this would affect the behavior of students with ADHD.
