After originally pursuing a career as an optometrist, I discovered that my true passion lies in working with children. Following the completion of my Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences at the University of Central Florida, I furthered my education by obtaining a Master's degree in Education from American University. During this time, I had the opportunity to teach as a long-term substitute across all grade levels from K-5, including in Title I schools. Since then, I have dedicated my career to teaching, having taught full years in second grade and currently instructing advanced math in fourth grade.
Through my Master's program, I gained invaluable knowledge of innovative, research-based teaching techniques such as scaffolding, differentiated instruction, and gamification, which have consistently helped my students excel above their grade level. I understand the challenges of finding time to implement these techniques, which is why my TpT store aims to provide resources that make their integration as seamless as possible.
âScaffolding: (pre-teaching vocabulary & I do, we do, you do)
âDifferentiated Instruction: (enrichment & pulling small groups)
âGamification: (increase engagement & lower frustration)
