TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have worked as an EFL teacher in Japan; a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade teacher in Title 1 schools; and as a kindergarten student-teacher in Title 1. I also have worked as an administrator, instructional coach, and a curriculum developer (all while in Japan).

MY TEACHING STYLE

I prefer a hands-on teaching method combine with coaching students to learn independently. I want my students to own the responsibility for their learning! Until students own their own cause, they are not going to give it their all.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I began my college career by studying Art Education at Winthrop University. However, I had a change of heart and ended up graduating from Clemson University with a BA in Political Science. Then, after teaching abroad in Japan for several years, I went back to school and got my M.Ed. from Jones International University. I am currently a licensed, Early Childhood Educator.
