By Erin Beers from Mrs Beers Language Arts Classroom This is my 19th year as a classroom teacher. I have taught self-contained 5th grade, 6th-8th Reading Intervention at the middle school level, and 12 years as a 6th grade ELA teacher. I have also taught 4th grade and 1st grade. I plan to stay in 7th grade for the rest of my career.
I utilize the Balanced Literacy approach. However, I have worked at incorporating the Daily 5 and Reader's/Writer's Workshop into my instruction to give ownership to my students. I am always working to improve my resources in order to meet the needs of my students.
I am a National Board Certified Teacher.
