TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This is my 3rd full year of teaching and my 2nd year in teaching 4th grade. My first year of teaching was in 3rd grade and I spent over 300 hours in various classrooms during my college practicum field experience.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is usually hands on and related to real life experiences. I also like to make sure my students understand the "why" behind what we are learning and when they will actually USE the skills later in life.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

With Tennessee's new rigorous evaluation standards, I have consistently earned 4's & 5's on my evaluations. Additionally, I have earned a 5 on my Tennessee State Value Added scores. An overall score of 3 is considered to be a "Rock Solid" teacher.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

After spening 15 years working in Human Resources for a large corporation, I graduated Magna Cum Laude with my Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Elementary Education in 2008.
