Aprender es divertido

I have been teaching Spanish for 23 years in public elementary schools in North Carolina, in FLES style programs. I taught English for 4 years in Madrid, Spain. Ten years ago I started in a new school with Smartboards in every classroom and this changed my approach to materials creation. I have been working on our curriculum units since then, and they get better every year I use them in the classroom. I can also turn the units into power point or google slides by request.

I believe in the natural approach to learn a foreign language: creating natural situations for the kids to learn and use the language. I use TPR and immersion (98% use of the target language). I create fun activities, visuals, sing songs and use movement to reach all learning styles. I love the new technologies and how they have opened the world to the students. I have been working with Smartboards for 13 years, but I also use puppets, props and other materials to make the experience more real and fun for the students.

Degree in Philology from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, License in Spanish K-12 from Central University, NC.
