These are great for spelling review during literacy centers, intervention, special education students, independent practice, word work with word families, homework, or morning work. There are sentences puzzles for fluency practice, word puzzles, and worksheets in this packet that work on ng and nk ending sounds, which are also called glued sounds, ending blends, or welded sounds!

The endings include: ing, ang, ung, ong, ink, onk, unk, & ank.

I use these worksheets and sorts as a supplemental resource to our Orton-Gillingham program. Some students need extra practice with this skill as many of these words they do not see as often as other words in their story books or guided reading books, thus they need additional exposure to these words!

Here's What's Included:

• Cut & Paste- Sort words into columns

• Fluency Rapid Word Chart- Time students for a certain amount of seconds. Each day try to read more words.

• Whole Class Activity- the teacher reads the word the students find the correct beginning sound and then write in the noisy ending

• Fluency Word Chart- Students get with a partner. Teacher times the student. The partner watches for any mistakes. When time is done, student marks where they stopped. Do it again and see if they can get passed their last dot.

• Color by Code

• Read each word. Write a word that rhymes with the word listed.

• Say the name of the picture. Circle the words that rhyme with the picture.

• Sort by Writing- Read the words from the word bank. Write the words in the correct columns.
• Fill in the missing word in the sentence.
