Zentangle Project

Hello Teachers,

This is a Zentangle Silhouette lesson that I do with my into to art/ art fundamentals course 9-12 grade. This lesson focuses on the elements of line, shape and value and the principals of pattern, repetition, and contrast.

Lesson Objectives:

Artists will create patterns by repeating simple lines and shapes to form patterns and designs.

Student will experience a calming effect while creating a zentangle.

Artists will increase attention span and ability to concentrate by zentangling.

Artists will turn mistakes into a new design.

Students will use basic drawing skills like lines and shapes in multiple ways in their zentangle art.

Create a zentangle that shows a variety of unique and expressive lines and patterns.

The goal of this lesson is that students will increase level of comfort making deliberate, repetitive designs with sharpie on paper; students will experience sense of completion; students will build self-confidence; students will recognize uniqueness of each design and each Zentangle.
