Description
Learning Phrase by Phrase
This 22 slide lesson was designed for absolute beginner ESL students to encourage speaking and correct grammar. I made this series for my Korean student who did not speak due to vocabulary. It boosted her confidence, so hopefully it will help your students too! It focuses on the teacher speaking with visuals. This can be used as a mini lesson or a full lesson.
It includes a mini lesson on the use of can/can't, with images complementing short simple sentences. At the end there is an activity where students can identify take turns identifying which animal can and can't do an action. There is also a link to a short video from Super Simple Songs that is GREAT for engaging younger students and reinforcing the lesson.
