Description
This is a HUGE 177-Page Curriculum Guide to Version Nine of the Australian Curriculum for Year Four students.
It Is the perfect resource if you are looking to have all the necessary curriculum information in one place, across different subject areas.
The resource contains:
* A comprehensive syllabus guide. This is organised into the following subjects (in this order) - English, Mathematics, Science, HASS, The Arts, Design and Digital Technology and Health/Physical Education. It contains all the elaborations for each outcome, as outlined by ACARA. This is useful if you need to distinguish between two similar outcomes, or if you need examples and further information about each outcomes.
* A more simplified syllabus guide. This still contains all the outcomes for all the same subject, buts elaborations are removed. Instead, there is a column for notes. I like to have a document printed like this for everyday classroom use, because I like to be able to write the names of students who need additional support in each area in the notes column. Alternatively this could be used for tracking, lesson ideas, compliance auditing, annotating...whatever you like!
* A “scope and sequence” document for Year Four. This is based on a cross-curricular integration model. This means that similar outcomes are taught together to maximise learning and to allow students to think deeply across and make connections across multiple subject areas. For example, in Term One, students look at water cycles and environments. This connects to learning in HASS, Science and English. Suggested focal points are given for each term - three “big concepts” which are covered by almost (if not all) of the subject outcomes for that term.
* Following this broad overview is a more detailed scope and sequence. This shows how each outcome is covered across the year with a cross-curricular focus. In this way, similar outcomes are linked by similar content. Again, this is simply a suggested scope and sequence but all the hard work of linking similar outcomes is done for you!
* A blank copy of the same scope and sequence document for your own classroom needs.
Lastly, it wouldn’t be a teacher resource without a bright and colourful cover, plus coordinating tabs for easy referencing! There is a range of covers for this guide, from floral to vintage to retro or sporty. Each cover has coordinating tabs which can be taped to the first page of each section. Check out the preview video to see me making my own copy of this resource if you are unsure of how to collate it.
