A bundle to help you teach Year 6 HASS Australian Curriculum subjects. All projects are term based and include a notes and a rubric. Now also available with Google slides.
History
This project has students researching in HASS, Australian federation, life in 20th century Australia and an Iconic figure. Now suitable for home and distance learning with Google slides option. It has been designed to tie in with the Australian Curriculum Year 6, although it could be modified to meet Year 5 standards or for any class completing research on Australia.
Australian Government
This Australian Government resource is now suitable for home and distance learning with a Google slides option. This resource includes TWO projects, with both relating to the Australian Curriculum, HASS, Civics and Citizenship and Democracy.
* The first is a term long research based project. It has students looking at the three levels of government, democracy and how the federal parliament works. They can work either individually or in pairs to complete the research and to present a PowerPoint presentation.
* The second project is VOTE FOR ME. This is a fun assignment that has students running as a candidate for their local government, to represent their school. How could they make their school better if they were elected? They present the information to other classmates or another class for a mock election. This provides students with an understanding of the electoral process and some of the roles and responsibilities of Australian citizens.
Geography
This resource has been designed to link with the Year 6 Australian Curriculum. Now suitable for home and distance learning with Google slides option. Students can work independently or in pairs to complete the tasks over 8-10 lessons. They use their research based learning skills to compare one Asian country to Australia. Looking at demographics, economics, trade and events that can bring the communities together. This information is then presented in the form of a PowerPoint Presentation.
