• Phonics Dictation Sentences - Students will listen to a sentence containing the phonics pattern of the teacher's choosing. They will say the sentence, count the words, then write it. They will check their own writing against a conventions rubric.
• Picture Prompts - Students will look at a simple picture, then respond to it in writing. They will check their sentence(s) using a conventions rubric.
• Fix-It Sentences - Students will read a sentence containing the phonics pattern of the teacher's choosing. They will locate all the grammatical errors in the sentence, then re-write it correctly, checking their writing against a conventions rubric.
