Description

Are you looking for an ALL-IN-ONE writing tool that incorporates all of the writing standards into one resource? Are you looking for interactive notebook work, while also incorporating authentic writing? This is the writing tool for you!

I am a language arts teacher, which means that it is my responsibility to also make sure that though not tested, my students leave me better writers, thinkers, speakers, and users of vocabulary. It is a lot to squeeze into a year. I realized that while word work and writing take place consistently in my classroom, I needed a writing tool that was easy to implement as well as also would help me make sure all of the writing standards were covered. This is the rationale for why I created this resource! I want to send successful readers and writers on to the next grade.

Included in this resource are the following writing units:
•Argument/Opinion Writing Unit
•Informative/Explanatory Writing Unit
•Narrative Writing Unit
•Editing and Revising Work
•Technology and Writing Work
•Research Writing Unit

In addition, there are additional topics for students, so the writing can be spiraled during the course of the year!

Materials…
•Mimio or SMART Board
•Chart paper for anchor charts to display around the classroom for easy reference
•Student writing binder, folder, or notebook. A binder with sheet protectors worked best for my students.
•Laptop/desktop computer access for research and publishing.

Directions…
•Share CCSS with students. I post these in the form of “I Can…” statements so that the learning is clear to students and have it visible on my front whiteboard.
•Use Mini-Lesson.
•Brainstorm and draft a sample with students. This does not have to be a complete example, but I find that the more detailed I am, the better ALL of my students will write.
•Model the writing process.
•Pull into small groups based on need for more instruction.
•Peer and teacher edit.
•Publish.

Accomplish all of your writing during the course of the year with this product!
